kilometers southwest of Struga, where the plain of Struga ends on 2
kilometers right from the road to Debar is located the village
T’shMarunishta. We can say that the village is located in the
footer of the mountain Karaorman and Slavei mountain. The Struga
village T’shMarunishta, which as an eternal guardian is looming on
the entrance of the gorge of the river Black Drim. The legends
numerous for its existence trough the centuries, array with a series
of testimonies hidden in the “eternal stone”. Here, you will hear
about the legends for the slavery of Alexander the Great, the biggest
ruler in the worlds history and the testimony for them in the
existing “Rabini Dupki” (Rabin holes) which are located in a
place called “Cerovdel”. Here, you will encounter many remains
from where the metals were processed, and they are in the place
glavie. The remains of the old churches which are confirming the
existence of the Christianity on the Balkan in the beginning of the
religion, and of course this village even then had a important
strategic position which remained unnoticed from Macedonian
revolutionary activists of the late 19th
and the early 20th,
as well as final resistance war.
This
wonderful village has a lot more to write about, and for this are
talking many events during the Turkish occupation over Macedonia. In
T’shMarunishta as a sign of appreciation of the fallen soldiers has
been built а monument on the two “Ilindens” (Ilindays) which is
only one on the territory of Macedonia, because the Ilinden
resistance war (2nd
August 1903 ) in T’shMarunishta traditionally half-century every
year in a row on 2nd
August marks “Ilinden” with beautiful music and cultural event.
“In
1903 our village as a part of the “ Ilinden Resistance War” which
had to take place on 2nd
August. The squad from T’shMarunishta bought 130 weapons for
preparation for the war. When the weapons arrived they hided them in
the cave “kukulec”, then they went to rest in a shack
